Ray Herrmann is one of the most exciting and in-demand woodwind artists today...anywhere! Ray is currently on the road as a permanent member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame super group Chicago. Having spent many years in L.A. as a top call studio artist, Ray has performed with a huge list of artists including Santana, Whitney Houston, Herbie Hancock and Bob Dylan. Here is his bio in his own words:

Hello everyone. My name is Ray Herrmann. Steve Wiest wanted me to write something about myself. I try to practice the virtue of humility but it's hard to be humble when you write about yourself. So I'll share with you my musical journey. I'm sure it's a similar path that many of you reading this have had.
My mom and dad started me on piano lessons when I was six. Did I want to take piano lessons? I can't remember. But probably not. I do remember wanting to be outside playing with my friends as opposed to practicing the piano every day. I started the clarinet in 3rd grade. Why? Because my Mom thought it would be easy and light to carry back and forth to school. Did I want to play the clarinet? I can't remember. But I probably wanted to be outside playing basketball with my friends. Thank God my parents didn't let me quit! Because it all changed when in 8th grade I saw Maynard Ferguson's big band. I knew then that I wanted to play the saxophone "just like those guys". So freshman year of high school my parents bought me a sax and I haven't looked back since.

Because of music I found my beautiful wife and have a wonderful career doing what I love to do. Thanks Mom and Dad!
We had a blast doing the VH CD. I hope you have as much fun listening as we did playing!
